HINIDAS COACH & CO-FOUNDER

I've been so lucky to enjoy a diverse and rewarding professional dance career both on the West End stage and in Hollywood film and even more fortunate to meet a certain guitarist, Andy, at the "Wicked"Christmas party. Twelve years later, and with nine-year old twins in tow, we've finally fulfilled our dream of living an outdoor life amongst the beautiful Scottish countryside.

hinidas means health in the indigenous language of my family in Borneo (a place not too dissimilar to Scotland's mountainous landscape though a little more flip-flop friendly). The crucial skill which kept me healthy and injury-free when performing everyday was the ability to maintain a secure and strong physical technique. Life, however, can throw a curve-ball or two and having experienced a difficult pregnancy it was, as many find, a long journey back to physical fitness. I know first hand the importance, both mentally and physically, of establishing a positive and empowering daily active routine. It's not always easy and difficult days can feel overwhelming so having outside support (personal and professional) can be crucial. Whilst core strength and awareness of alignment underpinned my recovery it was the outdoor adventure that kept me excited, revitalised and wanting more.

When not working with hinidas clients, or instructing at the internationally renowned and award winning luxury hotel and spa, Gleneagles, I divide my time between practicing very bad French and vowing to sort out the chaos in the loft.

HINIDAS CO-FOUNDER

Andy divides his time between working as a session guitarist and providing hinidas with administrative and last minute IT support as well as undertaking all groundswork and maintenance around the family’s homestead.

He has an insatiable appetite for all things renewable and recycled and loves nothing more than learning new skills and doing as much as possible by hand. Whether it’s felling and chopping as part of woodland management, hand-digging trenches for the ground source heat pump or scything the paddock and running trails, Andy likes to keep physically healthy by getting stuck in.

A certified BASI Ski Instructor, MIAS Mountain Bike Leader and Velotech Gold Bike mechanic, he us currently honing is Hill & Mountain Leadership skills. As a keen triathlete Andy has competed in many events including Blenheim Palace, Lydd, and London Olympic distance as well as the infamous long distance Alpe D’huez event. As both a road cyclist and mountain biker he’s loved being back in Scotland to enjoy the Étape Caledonia and the Loch Ness 360. In his spare time Andy has been very successful at training his dog Peg to completely ignore him.
